Crowns

What are they?

A cap placed over a tooth to repair damage, decay or cover large fillings. Crowns can also be used to improve aesthetics of front and back teeth. Can be carried out on the same day using Cerec.

What will my dentist do?

Visit 1:

• Give you a local anaesthetic to numb the area. (Can be done using “The Wand” painless injection)
• Prepare the tooth
• Take moulds of your teeth and send to laboratory

Visit 2: (not required if your crown is made using Cerec)

• Cement crown

What are the benefits?

• Can prolong the life of teeth that are damaged, decayed or have large fillings
• Increase then success rate of root canal by properly sealing the tooth
• Can be used to improve aesthetics of front and back teeth
